A record 20 stadiums including some that hosted famous yesteryear teams like Ziscosteel and Shabanie have failed to pass the fitness test to host ZIFA Central Region Division One matches.
Beitbridge’s two stadiums Dulivhadzimu and Ronnie’s Sports Arena both passed the fitness test.
These are reverse the homes of Dulivhadzimu United and Vhembe Stars, a community and a privately owned team respectively.
The CRSL has asked the teams to act on their recommendations to improve the grounds before the season already delayed by other administrative issues kicks off.
In a report to all clubs the CRS said all individual teams had been updated on their respective stadia status.
“Following the recent CRSL Stadium Inspections conducted for the 2026 season, all member clubs in the Central Region have been issued with their individual inspection reports.”
“These reports highlighted areas where each ground complies with league standards, as well as specific deficiencies that must be addressed to meet minimum safety, maintenance, and operational requirements,” reads a report of the CRSL Stadiums Inspections Summary Report.
It aslo outlined the required action.
“All clubs managing non-approved grounds are required to take immediate corrective measures to resolve the deficiencies identified in their inspection reports. Clubs are expected to ensure their grounds fully comply with CRSL standards prior to hosting matches.”
Re-Inspection, it said, was mandatory and will be conducted within seven (7) days from the date of the notice dispatched this week but without a date.
It said grounds that fail to meet standards during re-inspection will not be permitted to host CRSL matches until all deficiencies have been corrected.
