After years of loudly declaring his loyalty and rallying behind Zimbabwe’s wealthy “mbinga’s,” outspoken entertainer DJ Towers has finally received his long-awaited reward.
The controversial DJ, known for his unwavering support of businessman Wicknell Chivayo and ZANU PF, has been gifted a brand-new 2025 Toyota Fortuner 4X4 2.8 GD6 along with US$50,000 in cash.
The flamboyant Chivayo, never one to shy away from headline-making gestures, announced the gift on Facebook, stressing that DJ Towers’ “unapologetic loyalty” had set him apart.
“At times riya rinonzi nevanhu dzungu rinobhadhara. LOYALTY is more valuable than friendship and more POWERFUL than respect, because when everything else fades away, only LOYALTY remains standing,” he wrote.
DJ Towers often mocked online for his bold and sometimes over-the-top praise of Chivayo and ZANU PF has built a reputation as one of the most outspoken defenders of the ruling party. From chanting “ED Pfee!” to posting viral videos smeared in peanut butter, he has turned ridicule into visibility, earning both criticism and admiration in equal measure.
Chivayo acknowledged this persistence, saying Towers had shown “guts” that few others possess.
The gift includes a fully paid luxury SUV, ready for collection at Exquisite Car Dealership, plus US$50,000 cash as “pocket money.”
“A BIG congratulations to you DJ TAWAZ,” Chivayo said. “Your brand spanking new 2025 Toyota Fortuner 4X4 2.8 GD6 is fully paid for and ready for collection. In addition, you will get US$50,000 pocket money in cash.”
News of the gift has reignited debate on social media. Supporters hailed it as proof that “dzungu rinobhadhara” (madness pays), while critics argued that it reflects misplaced priorities at a time when ordinary Zimbabweans are struggling with economic challenges.
For DJ Towers, though, the moment is clear: after years of waiting, loyalty has finally paid off in style.
