BEITBRIDGE born content creator Michelle Moyo known as Ritz Mcleish has taken her meteoric rise beyond Zimbabwe’s borders after securing a nomination for Best Female TikToker at the Africa Golden Awards.
The continental nod comes 3 weeks after her breakthrough appearance at the National Arts Merit Awards (NAMA24) People’s Choice category, where she stood shoulder to shoulder with some of the country’s biggest entertainment names.
The back to back recognition has thrust the young creator into the spotlight as one of Zimbabwe’s fastest rising digital talents.
Now, she faces her biggest test yet.
Ritz is up against some of Africa’s most influential TikTok creators many with millions of followers and established continental appeal.
Among them is Sphokuhle .N from South Africa who has 5 million followers and also Bisikit from Ghana who has 2,4 followers .
“The category is full of TikTok heavyweights with millions of followers, but I hope with your support I am bringing the award home,” she said.
Voting for the awards opens on 20 March 2026, with organisers yet to announce the ceremony date.
The awards celebrate African excellence across entertainment, innovation and social impact, attracting top talent from across the continent.
For Ritz, the nomination is bigger than personal achievement. It places Beitbridge a town often overlooked in mainstream entertainment firmly on the continental map.
Her rise underscores a shift in Zimbabwe’s creative industry, where digital content creators are increasingly competing with traditional artists for recognition and influence.
Away from the spotlight, Ritz credits her journey to faith, vision and self belief.
“God is opening doors for me. I believe one day I will be doing a production with Tyler Perry in Hollywood,” she said.
Her confidence is matched by growing public support, as fans rally behind her bid to bring the award home.
With momentum building and the vote approaching, Ritz now stands on the brink of turning a small town dream into a continental triumph.
