BEITBRIDGE-born artist Bhadilah has secured a place among the performers at Zimbabwe’s 2026 Independence Gala, standing out as the only artist from the border district selected to grace the national stage.
The gala, scheduled for April 18, is party of the country’s Independence Day celebrations.
It will be held at Minda High School grounds in Maphisa growth point, Matobo District, Matabeleland South.
Festivities are scheduled to begin at 6pm and continue all night long.
Bhadilah’s inclusion in the line-up marks a significant milestone, not only for the artist but also for Beitbridge, which rarely features prominently in national entertainment showcases.
Speaking to Ziyah News Network, Bhadilah (Vhafosti) expressed and appreciation being part of the line.
“It feels great to be selected as one of the artists to make the Independence Gala 2026 line up. This is a national platform, it gives us the national spotlight therefore as Bhadilah Music we will make sure that our supporters are proud!”
This year’s line-up includes prominent names such as Sandra Ndebele, Jeys Marabini, Clement Magwaza, Mavusani and the Chimurenga Vocalists, Dereck Mpofu, Andy Muridzo, and Suluman Chimbetu.
Other groups and acts including Black Umfolosi, Ndolwane Super Sounds, Iyasa, Jah Master, and Sasha, among others.
Event organisers confirmed that a total of 29 artistes will take to the stage, reflecting a diverse mix of established and emerging talent from across the ten provinces in the country.
Hosting duties on the main stage will be handled by Thulani Munyadi, Leonard Ncube, Nqobile Malinga, and Cde Phil Moyo.
For Bhadilah, the opportunity represents both national recognition and a chance to showcase Beitbridge’s artistic presence on one of Zimbabwe’s biggest cultural platforms.
