Vhembe Stars Academy will be out for revenge when they host Jessie Mine in their final Matebeleland South Division 2 Pool A match of the season at Dulibadzimu Stadium on Saturday, 6 December.
The fixture has been declared a free-entry encounter, giving fans a chance to witness a high-stakes finale without charge.
The clash is a rematch of the opening game of the 2025 season, in which Vhembe Stars narrowly lost 1-0 to Jessie Mine.
Now, the newcomers are eager to avenge that defeat in front of their home crowd.
Speaking to Ziyah News Network, head coach Paul Makabiri, popularly known as “KB”, said his side is ready to finish the season on a winning note.
“No matter the loss we suffered at the start of the season, we are ready to take the win back as we close it,” said Makabiri.
The coach said his squad is in good condition and urged supporters to come out in large numbers to back the team.
“We are well prepared, and the boys are in good form. Since the match is free, we hope our supporters come and rally behind us,” he said.
Beyond pride and revenge, Saturday’s clash carries significant implications for the league standings. Vhembe Stars currently sit fourth with 52 points, just two behind third-placed Jessie Mine on 54.
A victory for the hosts could see them leapfrog their rivals into the top three, capping off an impressive debut season in Division 2.
With bragging rights, league position and season honours on the line, all signs point to an intense and entertaining finale at Dulibadzimu Stadium.
