Bikita Minerals survived the dreaded chop of relegation on the last courtesy of a 2-1 victory over Hwange, ensuring another dance in the premiership for the Bikita outfit at the same time condemning their opponent to division one football next season.
Before playing against Hwange, Bikita Minerals were on the brink of relegation as they occupied two of the last slots for relegation behind Bulawayo Chiefs by a point. However, after snapping Hwange they moved to position 14 ahead of Bulawayo Chiefs which lost 2-1 against Manica Diamond.
Following Bikita Minerals’ thrilling victory and survival from relegation, Bulawayo Chiefs and Hwange were unfortunate as they were relegated to lower rungs of division one football joining the already demoted Arenal Movers and Chegutu Pirates
in the drop.it was a tough season for these 5 teams; however as for the unfortunate four teams they will have push for promotion next season at the lower divisions.
During the entire season, Bikita Minerals managed to secure eight victories, 14 draws and 12 defeats in 34 matches, they will have to regroup and improve their squad if they are to survive the rigorous competition of the premier league where the big boys of Zimbabwean football wine and dine
Bikita Minerals secured their promotion to the Castle Lager Premiership, Zimbabwe ‘s top flight league in 2023 after being awarded three points from their final match of the season against Grayham FC in which latter was accused of fielding an ineligible.
