Bishopstone suffered a humiliating 5-0 defeat at the hands of seasoned campaigners Chapungu in the match day 1 of the Central Region Soccer League over the weekend.

The Beitbridge West based side failed to pick up its winning rhythm away from home, as it was  helplessly hammered by the airmen Chapungu.

Despite  a huge loss over Chapungu, Bishopstone Coach Prince Bandula highlighted that they have a  huge task of defending  the badge in front of their fans in their next encounter against Sheasham to atone for the humiliating loss.

“Shesham are fearful because last season they left three points at Mushato stadium, so players have all the mandate not to humiliate their supporters,” Coach Bandula stated as his team prepares to host the construction boys.

Elsewhere, the Construction boys, Sheasham made a huge statement by hammering  Matobo 5-0 to start the new season with a high tempo.

Last season title contenders and runners up, Tongogara FC were held to a 1all draw by Blanket mine at home.
