A viral social media post that shows two police officers accepting bribes from unauthorized public vehicles such as minibuses, taxis along Harare Mutare Road, Mabvuku turn off has led to the arrest of two police officers.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police has confirmed the arrest of the two.
Commissioner Paul Nyathi has disclosed the names of the cops that have been arrested.
“ZRP confirm that Sergeant Chifamba and Constable Gunzva are facing both disciplinary and criminal charges. These are bad apples who do not deserve to be serving in the police service, “said Nyathi
“The Commissioner-General of Police does not condone corruption by any police officer and will ensure that the law takes its course without fear or favour,” added the police spokesman.
