CAPS United have kicked off preparations for the 2026 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season with a player induction and confirmation of a pre-season training camp in Malawi, signaling a focused and well-resourced campaign.
In a post on the CAPS United Facebook page, Club President Farai Jere said the team’s pre-season preparations began with a player induction held this week, with full training scheduled to start on January 12.
As part of their build-up to the new season, the Green Machine will head to Malawi for an overseas training camp aimed at improving fitness levels and tactical sharpness.
The club is actively reinforcing its squad with key signings including striker Obriel Chirinda, midfielder Nyasha Gurende, Talent Chamboko, Richard Hachiro, and experienced goalkeeper Wallace Magalane.
The recruitment drive is part of a broader effort to restore CAPS United’s competitiveness after a disappointing previous season.
In a major financial boost, CAPS United secured a US$4 million sponsorship deal with Green Dollar Coin, a move expected to stabilize operations and support player welfare throughout the season.
Jere said the club’s commitment to long-term sustainability by integrating promising talent from its academy into the senior setup a strategy designed to build depth and nurture future stars.
