The two leading football teams from Beitbridge plying their trade in the Central Region Central Division One League received major boost as they welcomed new sponsorship deals which will no doubt go a long way in cushioning the teams.
Central Region League pacesetters Dulivhadzimu United received new kit and a sponsorship deal from local businesses Skwari Makapata and Sebata Luxury Coaches stepped up as official sponsors for the football club.
Skwari Makapata’s generous donation included 80 tracksuits, 30 socks, and 30 boots, providing Dulivhadzimu United FC with much-needed equipment in the league marathon.
Town Secretary Loud Ramakgapola spoke emphasising the power of collective action. He stressed the importance of community support for sports development, highlighting its transformative role for youth. He commended Skwari Makapata’s unwavering support for the youth through their sports kit donation. He also acknowledged the partnership between Dulivhadzimu FC and the Municipality, which stemmed from the team’s mission to combat drug use among young people.
Expressing gratitude, Mr. Ephat Shoko, Chairman of Dulivhadzimu United FC, acknowledged the challenges of running a football club, particularly in the current economic climate. He acknowledged the significant impact of the sponsorship, recognising the trust placed in the team and vowing to be responsible stewards of the donated equipment.
Beitbridge Town Mayor, Mr. Peter Pirato, expressed appreciation to Ziyah Media for their initial sponsorship of Dulivhadzimu United FC. He highlighted their role in paving the way and inspiring others to recognize the team’s potential.

A stone throw away from Beitbridge Town House, Beitbridge Football Club was unveiling it’s 2024 season playing kit, courtesy of its sponsors Alpha International Land Developers , Genesis and Ziyah News Network, the news arm of Ziyah Media, at colourful ceremony held at Eden of Johnie’s Mumvuri .
Speaking at the unveiling ceremony, Alpha International Land Developers Director, Mr Jonathan Gapare said his company is committed to supporting the Beitbridge FC cause through moral and financial support.
He emphasized the importance of valuing the players as the vital element to the success of a football team, cautioning the executive of the team not to be greedy and prioritise the players so that they can focus on what they do best on the playing field.
“I also urge you to be innovative and have income generating projects so that you may have savings and kiss goodbye to financial woes, I dont want you to have challenges that can hinder your progress,” he said.
Ziyah News Network representative and Chief Reporter, Evans Dakwa, said his organisation is proud to be associated with a team which is rooted in the community.
On his part Genesis representative Zorodzai Damiso who is the marketing and product innovation expressed his elation to see a project that he witnessed being incepted and was part of coming to fruition.
The kit unveiling, and promises of financial support from the sponsors is anticipated to push the team which is currently la lying 18th in the Central Region Division one league
