Dynamos coach Genesis “Kaka” Mangombe and his Goalkeepers’ gaffer Brito Gwere have to make a decision on two of the acclaimed goal minders on land this week.

The Harare giants have virtually finalised their squad after several players including Partson Jaure, Ronald Chitiyo and Allan Gahadzikwa were told not to continue attend training after a week of trials.

But there is one other area the technical team will have to closely look at before closing shop and get down to perfect pre-season business.

First choice goalkeeper Prince Tafiremutsa left for Scottland while Tanyaradzwa Jinja has been dropped, only Tatenda Makoni is available in the department from last season.

However Mangombe seems to have settled for former Hardrock shot-stopper Matthias Kigonya.

That has left the nomadic duo of Nedrick Madeya and Ashley Rayners battling to fill the remaining one slot.
“We are still assessing the two to see who do we take,” said Mangombe.
“We are still assessing our players and we have not yet really finalised the squad but of course we will.”

For the best part of the past decade and a half, Dembare have found themselves slugging it out in the lower positions , dropping as low as position 14 in the Premier Soccer league and failing to feature in the continental competitions.

Mangombe aims to reclaim the Glamour Boys’ supremacy in domestic competition after the team fell short in the 2025 season, recording eight victories, 15 draws, and 11 defeats.

Dynamos will also be playing in the CAF Confederation Cup this year after winning the Chibuku Super Cup last year.
