More details have emerged following a tragic domestic violence incident in Mabidi on Wednesday morning, where Dominic Madzimga stabbed his wife before taking his own life by hanging.
Madzinga was found dead in the apparent suicide.
Police have confirmed Madzinga’s body was taken to Beitbridge District Hospital mortuary for further management and post-mortem.
The wife whose names have not been established as yet, sustained a stab wound to the stomach during the attack, is currently admitted at the same hospital and is reported to be in serious condition.
Acting Officer Commanding Beitbridge Police District Superintendent Philisani Ndebele, confirmed the developments and urged members of the public to seek peaceful ways of resolving disputes.
“We continue to urge members of the public not to resort to violence in cases of misunderstandings, including issues such as infidelity or domestic hardships,” said Ndebele.
“People should approach religious leaders such as pastors or consult the Zimbabwe Republic Police for assistance.”
