The Medicines Control Authority of Zimbabwe (MCAZ) has officially renewed its Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Botswana Medicines Regulatory Authority (BoMR to promote and develop cooperation in medical products

Regulatory functions within the two sister countries.

This renewed partnership, announced today by the Medicines regulatory Authority, is aimed at enhancing collaboration in the regulation of medical products between the two nations.

 The announcement by MCAZ emphasized that this renewed cooperation is crucial for promoting safety and quality in medical products. The authorities plan to engage in a comprehensive exchange of information and best practices, which will enhance their regulatory functions and support capacity-building initiatives.

“This collaboration aligns with our ongoing efforts to ensure the safety, quality, and efficacy of medical products in our respective countries,” stated MCAZ in its media statement

The MoU renewal marks a commitment from both regulatory bodies to share expertise and resources, ultimately benefiting the healthcare systems of Zimbabwe and Botswana. The partnership will facilitate various collaborative efforts, including the regulation of medical devices, the detection of substandard and falsified medicines, and advancements in biotechnology and vaccine production.
