The Zimbabwe woman’s national team, Might Warriors suffered a 3-1 defeat against Zambia ‘s Copper Queens in the final match of the Three Nations Woman tournament played, Tuesday at Bingu stadium in Malawi.

Following their impressive 2-1 victory against Malawi, the Mighty Warriors went into this match looking for a draw or a win to secure the championship of the Three Nations Women’s tournament. However, things took a turn for the worse for the Mighty Warriors as the Copper Queens came into this match strong and demolished the winning rhythm of Zimbabwe and crowned champions.

Copper Queens dominated the match from the start, delivering a 3-1 lead during the first 45 minutes, which went on to seal the victory and the title for the Copper Queens.

Mighty Warriors and Copper Queens finished this tournament with 4 points each, but the Copper Queens were crowned champions due to their superior goal difference.

For the Zimbabwean side, this result will undoubtedly feel heavy, yet it is a clear glimpse of their potential as they manage to show goal scoring opportunities and created chances against one of the world ‘s competitive team and Africa ‘s number four, the Copper Queens.

After 3-1 defeat against Zambia, Zimbabwe Football Association appreciated the effort and determination of the Mighty Warriors throughout the tournament.
“Zimbabwe falls short today(Tuesday) . A tough result, but the Mighty Warriors fought right to the final whistle.We take the lessons, keep our heads up, and come back stronger”, ZIFA said in a statement.

Meanwhile, the men ‘s national team, Warriors are currently preparing for the Africa Cup of Nations 2025, set to kick off on December 22, in Morocco, where they will play against the Egyptians in their first match.
