MPOPOMA Sports Academy took third place at the CAF U17 Girls Integrated football tournament 2025 finals in the Harare as they edged Aguila 4-1 in the third place play-offs on Thursday, December 18, 2025.
Mpopoma’s Chiedza Khumalo scored a brace, alongside Rejoice Chamunorwa and Chantel Gwenhamo who scored a goal each, to secure a thrilling 4-1 victory that sealed third place for the Zimbabwean representatives.
After scoring a brace, Chiedza Khumalo has now scored 7 goals in the entire tournament, one goal behind top scorer Tamandani Chilimba of Luwinga.
Following their impressive 12-0 victory against Otjiwarongo, 2-1 win against Luwinga, and a defeat against Mamelodi Sundowns Academy, Mpopoma Sports Academy continued their impressive journey as they secured a bronze medal in the tournament.
Meanwhile, The much anticipated final clash between South Africa ‘s Mamelodi Sundowns Academy and Lesotho ‘s Lishoeshoe will kick off at 1400 hours at Ngoni Stadium.
Mamelodi Sundowns Academy’s Sandra Mugwara, who is currently on 6 goals, will be hoping to take her goal tally to over 8 goals to walk away with the ladies’ Golden Boot.
