VHEMBE Stars head coach Philimon Mutyakureva says his side is on the right path after a 4–1 pre-season training match victory over Ha Moze FC at Ronnies Stadium on Wednesday.
The scoreline showed improved goal-scoring form and growing momentum ahead of upcoming fixtures.
Speaking to Ziyah News Network following the win, Mutyakureva said the Central Region Division One outfit is showing clear progress in front of goal, although they face a lower Division Two opponent.
“Despite playing with a D2 team, the team is improving, especially in scoring goals,” said Mutyakureva.
“Last weekend we scored only one goal when we were playing against Gwanda Pirates, but now the players are improving.”
Vhembe Stars had struggled in their previous outing against Gwanda Pirates, managing just a single goal, but Wednesday’s four-goal display marked a significant response from the squad.
Mutyakureva said the performance reflects a team steadily building confidence and rhythm.
“They are also gaining momentum, which highlights that we are on a good path in terms of our standing,” he said.
The coach expressed optimism that his side can maintain the upward trajectory and become more clinical in future matches.
“We hope to push and score more than four goals in upcoming games,” Mutyakureva said.
The victory serves as a morale booster for Vhembe Stars as they continue preparations for the competitive fixtures ahead, with the technical bench encouraged by the team’s attacking improvement and overall cohesion.
