CENTRAL Region debutants Vhembe Stars Academy, has appointed Philimon Mutyakureva as their head coach taking over from Paul ‘Kabila’ Mugabiri.
Kabila now becomes the second assistant coach.
Vhembe Stars Academy, popularly known as “The Greens” club Secretary General, Foster Abeki confirmed the appointment of the former Dynamos assistant coach Mutyakureva.
He was unveiled at the Ziyah Media offices in Beitbridge town on Friday evening.
Mutyakureva will be deputised by Blessing Madombe as the first assistant coach.
“We are happy to have our new coaches. They all have experience, with Mutyakureva holding a CAF A license and Madombe a CAF B license. They will share their experience with the boys to achieve our goals,” Abekie said.
The duo will begin their duties with the team before the start of the new CRSL season.
Mutyakureva signed a 2 year contract with the The Greens, Beitbridge’s second division one team after Dulibadzimu United.
Kelin Mukunga will manage the team.
Vhembe Stars Academy looks forward to Mutyakureva and his technical team showcasing their top experiences and helping the team make a better mark in their challenge in Division One.
Mutyakureva once served as Kalisto Pasuwa’s understudy at Dynamos for three years between 2012 and 2014.
Here he helped to oversee one of the most successful periods in the club’s history.
He also served as an assistant coach at Ngezi Platinum FC.
His immediate past assignment was with Eastern Region Soccer League Division One side Tenax FC coach.
He is returning to Beitbridge where was once an assistant coach for the Beitbridge outfit Underhill.
