Amid rising tensions and accusations of electoral fraud coming from opposition camps, the Electoral Commission of Namibia has called for all contesting political parties to a meeting for post-election updates.
The meeting is scheduled for this afternoon
In a statement, the Electoral Commission of Namibia highlighted that the commission would like to provide update on the post elections further processes and only authorized representatives are expected to attend.
“The purpose of this communiqué is to invite all the authorised representatives of the esteemed contesting political parties to a meeting which is scheduled to take place on the 28 of November 2024 at the ECN head offices at 1200hrs.following the 2024 Presidential and national assembly elections held on the 27 November 2024 ,the commission would like to provide an update on the post elections further process .only authorised representatives are expected to attend the aforementioned meeting,” Chief Electoral and Referenda officer Peter Shaama said in a statement.
The Namibian citizens will be hoping for a diffusion of the simmering undertones of tension from this scheduled meeting amongst the contesting political leaders. Some opposition parties have been reported as threatening to turn Namibia into a Mozambique
