THE NASH Beitbridge district athletics competition 2026 is currently underway at Chamnanga Secondary School.
The competitions are scheduled to run from February 19 until Friday, 20 February 2026.
When Ziyah News Network arrived at Chamnanga, the atmosphere was electric with the Under 15 Girls battling in the 400m event, before the U18 Girls displayed a brilliant performance in the 3000m event where the Western cluster dominated both events.
The Beitbridge district clusters include the Northern cluster with giants like Tongwe High School and host Chamnanga, Western cluster with Zezani High School and Siyoka, Central cluster with St Mary’s and Vhembe, Southern cluster includes schools like Swereki and Shashe, while the Eastern side includes Malungudzi and Nuli, among others.
The Beitbridge district Is vying to assemble a formidable squad by the end of the two day competition as they look to compete at the provincial competitions, which will be held at Manama High School in a few weeks time.
In 2025, Beitbridge district produced formidable athletes such as Derrick Matutu, who conquered the 400m, and Tinotenda Kayereka, who conquered the long jump, from the clusters to the national level.
The duo went on to represent Zimbabwe in global athletics, showcasing the Beitbridge district’s capabilities.
