The spirit of gratitude, unity and celebration filled the air as Oakleigh House Trust School hosted a colourful Christmas Night Celebration on Wednesday, bringing together parents, pupils, teachers and community leaders under the theme “Wrapped in Gratitude.”
The event was not only a festive gathering but also a moment of thanksgiving for a remarkable academic year that saw the school produce an impressive 100 percent pass rate in the 2025 Grade 7 ZIMSEC examinations.
Addressing parents and guests, the school head, Mrs Beauty Takaza, described the success as a product of teamwork between teachers, learners and parents.
“Academic excellence is now our culture as a school,” she said.
“Our teachers are highly committed and self-motivated. They go beyond normal working hours to ensure learners understand and excel. We also make use of digital skills and modern learning methods to prepare our pupils for the future,” she said.
She revealed that the results included top achievements, with 8 pupils recording aggregate six, while 19 learners attained aggregate seven, and more than half of the class scoring below 11 aggregates in the examinations administered by the Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC).
The celebration drew warm praise from Beitbridge Town Clerk Mr Loud Ramakgapola, who commended the school for building a strong culture of excellence.
“You are raising the bar very high,” he said.
“This achievement reflects dedication from both teachers and school leadership. I also applaud the organisers for hosting such a well-coordinated and inspiring function,” he said

The night came alive with Christmas carols, dances, drama and performances by students, creating a joyful atmosphere that truly reflected the festive season.
Parents watched proudly as their children showcased both talent and confidence.
In recognition of effort and commitment, top Grade 7 learners were honoured with certificates and awards, while teachers received rewards for their tireless dedication.
The school also extended its appreciation to parents by presenting tokens of gratitude to those who consistently supported school activities.
