PARLIAMENTARIAN Energy Mutodi has been relieved of his duties as Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee on Budget, Finance, and Investment Promotion with immediate effect.
In a notice dated October 7, 2025, the Speaker of Parliament and Chairperson of the Standing Rules and Orders (CSRO) Jacob Mudenda said the decision was made in line with Standing Order No. 19 of the National Assembly.
“This serves to notify you that the CSRO has resolved to terminate your tenure as Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee… with immediate effect,” Mudenda said in a notice to Mutodi, who is the MP for Bikita South.
Mudenda further said all benefits and entitlements linked to the role would also be discontinued.
Mutodi, had been serving in the position until this latest development.
The reasons for the dismissal were not specified in the notice.
