Six robbers pounced on Pircy farm in Goromonzi getting away with cash and other items, the police have confirmed.
Available details indicate the unknown male suspects were armed with machetes and pistols and gained entry to the farm by cutting the fence at the backyard.
“The suspects gained entry by cutting the fence and entered the kitchen through an open door,” Police Spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi said.
“They entered the kitchen through an open door before attacking the farm owners. The suspects stole USD 3,000 in cash, various clothing items, two speakers, three cellphones, laptops, jewellery, groceries, and three firearms.”
The stolen firearms were recovered in the farm’s backyard, and CCTV footage captured the suspects’ faces and clothing.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police is appealing for information from the public that may lead to the arrest of the assailants. Anyone with information may contact National Complaints Desk on (0242) 70 3631 or WhatsApp on 0712 800 197 or report at any nearest Police Station.
