Robert Mugabe Junior, (33), son of the late inaugural leader of Zimbabwe Robert Mugabe, spent a second night behind bars after a Harare court postponed ruling on his bail application.
He is expected to return to court today, Friday, October 3, 2025, for continuation of the hearing.
Mugabe was arrested Wednesday, October 1 during a police traffic blitz in Harare.
He was intercepted driving a silver Honda Fit against traffic along 2nd Street Extension when suspicious police searched his car leading to the discovery of his black sling bag, police officers recovered two sachets of dagga, one pack of Rizla, and a white dagga crusher.
The court further head that Mugabe refused to sign the seizure receipt that officers issued to him.
The seized dagga, later weighed at Harare Main Post, amounted to two grams with an estimated street value of US$30 (about R550).
Prosecutors indicated the drugs will be tendered in court as an exhibit.
Magistrate Lisa Mutendereki remanded Mugabe in custody until Friday for the bail ruling. If the court denies bail today.
