The Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Service (ZPCS) has confirmed the death of Matabeleland South Deputy Officer Commanding, Assistant Commissioner Rever Mbedzi.
He passed away early this morning, according to a brief statement released to the media.
Efforts to obtain further details were unsuccessful, with ZPCS Provincial Public Relations Officer Tikiti Terence saying the service is not yet ready to comment.
“Currently we are not in a position to respond to anything. We will update in due course,” he said.
Details regarding the cause of death and funeral arrangements are yet to be announced.
