The Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA) has announced new fuel prices effective January 4, 2025.
The announced prices show diesel users can breathe a sigh of relief after a slight decrease in diesel prices while petrol remains unchanged.
“Diesel now costs a maximum of US$1.53 per litre, a decrease of US$0.01 from December’s price of US$1.54,” ZERA stated.
In Zimbabwe Gold (ZiG), the maximum price has increased marginally, from 39.34 ZWG to 39.61 ZWG per litre. Fuel stations may sell at prices below these maximums based on their trading conditions.
ZERA emphasized that all fuel stations must clearly display their prices as mandated by regulations.
For petrol users, Blended petrol (E20) remains priced at a maximum of US$1.48 per litre, which is a decrease of US$0.03 from the November price of US$1.51 per litre.
In ZiG, the maximum price has risen from 37.85 ZWG to 38.12 ZWG per litre.
“The public and operators are advised that the blending ratio is at E20,” ZERA clarified.
ZERA further encouraged stakeholders to verify fuel price updates through official channels like ZERA website, Facebook, or Twitter handle.
