Football trials are currently underway at Vhembe Stars Academy in Beitbridge, providing aspiring young players a valuable opportunity to showcase their talent and potentially secure a spot ahead of team’s debut season in division 2.
Speaking to Ziyah News Network, Vhembe Stars Academy team manager Kelvin Mukunga highlighted the trials serve as a team strategy to strengthen their squad ahead of their division 2 debut season. He also emphasized that the team is expecting players to show up for the trials until Wednesday, February 15, 2025.
“We see ourselves ready to participate in the ZIFA Central Region Division 2 hence we have opened doors for trials to all players who feel they can take on the challenge. We invite all the aspiring players across all parts of Beitbridge to come at the club grounds …,” Mukunga stated.
The team manager also highlighted the team has scouting players since 2024, at the Ziyah Media tournament and district schools tournament to assemble and formidable team.
Vhembe Stars Academy was established in November 2023 and they joined the local zonal league in order to build up their squad. In 2024, the team played friendlies against Dynamos Juniors ,the new promoted division one side Gwanda Pirates , Jahunda Boys Academy and Stubbs FC among others as part of efforts to build a team.
