Central Region Soccer League Division One newcomers, Vhembe Stars Academy, are leaving nothing to chance as they prepare for intensive competition in one of the most difficult first division regions.
The club will not be short on experience as they boost of established stars and the journey to add more energy and depth has begun with the combing of prospects.
The trials are in full swing at Roonie’s Arena having kicked off on Tuesday.
The assessment is part of a broader plan by the Beitbridge side to ensure they don’t only safeguard their newly earned status in the CRSL but stand their ground and perhaps have a say in the Premier Soccer League promotion matrix.
Vhembe Stars Academy manager Kelvin Mukunga said: “We are currently assessing and training with new players and a huge number have come to try their lucky. We expect more and more players to come and showcase their talent.”
Mukunga revealed that returning players have all resumed training in preparation of what promises to be an exciting season.
Vhembe Stars Academy are looking to build a formidable side strong enough to tag along the same bracket with the likes of Gwanda Pirates, Chapungu and Dulibadzimu United.
