VHEMBE Stars Academy FC will travel to Gwanda to face fellow Division One side Gwanda Pirates in a preseason match on Saturday, February 14, 2026, as part of their preparation for the new campaign in the Central Region Soccer League.

Speaking to Ziyah News Network, Vhembe Stars Academy’s Secretary General, Foster Abeki said, “The boys will be travelling for a preseason match in Gwanda to face Gwanda Pirates over the weekend, as part of our preparation for the 2026 season.”

With newly appointed Head Coach Philimon Mutyakureva at the helm, the Greens will use the match to build cohesion, integrate players, and lay the groundwork for what promises to be another demanding campaign and new challenge.

The Vhembe Stars – Gwanda Pirates preseason match will play a crucial role for the Beitbridge side as it acts as a test match for player assessments and their readiness for the new challenge in the Central Region Soccer League Division One.

Meanwhile, Gwanda Pirates played their last two preseason matches against fellow Beitbridge side Dulibadzimu United, with both matches ending in draws.

After facing Vhembe Stars Academy, the Gwanda side will now prepare to play against Premier Soccer League returnees Bulawayo Chiefs and debutants Hard Rock FC.
