Vhembe Stars Academy were held to a 1–1 draw by Delete FC and a 0–0 draw with Habane Pirates in Matchdays 27 and 28 of the ZIFA Matabeleland South Pool A Division 2, dropping points on the trot away from home.

Following their back to back draws against Habane , debutants Delete, Vhembe Stars Academy’s dream to secure a spot in the Central Region Soccer League Division One is fading.

The Beitbridge outfit currently sits on position 4 behind Jessie, Mawabeni and the inform Superstrikers FC.

Vhembe Stars Academy Secretary General Foster Abeki said the hopes of qualifying for the Central Region Soccer League Division One are shattered as the team is now left with 1 game to end the season.

“ Considering theses are schools kids and they balance football with academics. I think they did very well. It is also now impossible to secure a spot in the Central Region Soccer League Division One as we are left with only game and besides that Superstrikers FC has opened a quite huge gap which is impossible to cover with one game to go,” Abeki said.

Vhembe Stars Academy will play its last match of the season against Jesse Mine at Dulibadzimu Stadium over the weekend.

Meanwhile, Superstrikers FC is only one 90 minutes away being crowned the ZIFA Matebeleland South Pool A Division 2 champions, after securing 17 victories, 6 draws and 1 defeat.

Some teams have however complained about biased officiating that affecting teams fair play.

Several Superstrikers games were abandoned but strangely all pointsvwere awarded to them making it strange why they were the common feature in every violent game.
