VHEMBE Stars FC are heading into enemy territory with a point to prove after a bruising 2-0 setback against Chapungu FC snapped their momentum.

The Stars are looking to ignite a turn around this Saturday, when they clash with Sabi Gold Mine FC, kickoff is locked for 15:00 away.

The loss to Chapungu served as a wake-up call, but the camp in Vhembe isn’t hitting the panic button just yet, instead, there’s a grit and “eyes-forward” mentality rippling through the squad.

Team Manager Elder Kelvin Mukunga was quick to shut down any talk of a hangover from their previous outing.

Speaking to Ziyah News Network, Mukunga made it clear that the rearview mirror is empty.

“What happened with Chapungu is now behind us. like I said every day is a new game.we are focused on bringing home the maximum three points to climb that league table.”

To secure the bag on the road, the Stars will lean on their heavy hitters.

Mukunga highlighted two names expected to provide the spark, Themba Siziba (#15) The engine room. he is expected to dictate the tempo.

While Johani Moyo Mapipo (#10)The creative spark is tasked with unlocking the Sabi defense.

Club Secretary General Mr Abeck Foster reinforced that while football can be unpredictable, the Stars’ objective remains singular.

“There are three possible outcomes in football a win, a draw, or a loss and losing is one of them.but as a team, we are laser-focused on securing maximum points.”Foster noted

With the chips down and the campaign needing a jumpstart, Vhembe Stars aren’t just looking for a result they are looking to make a statement.
