President of the United Republic of Tanzania and Chairperson of the SADC Organ on Politics, Defence and Security cooperation Dr.Samia Suluhu Hassan has urged all Namibian eligible voters to participate in numbers in the Southern African country tomorrow. November 27th.

In a statement, President Hassan also urged for peaceful voting, adhering to democratic values and principles envisioned by the SADC treaty

“I call upon all the Namibian eligible voters to participate in high numbers to vote and decide on the country‘s future leadership. I urge all the political actors and their supporters to secure a successful calm ,peaceful elections and post –election period by acting responsibly …As a region ,we look forward to electoral processes that adhere to democratic values and principles envisioned in our SADC treaty ,the SADC protocol on politics ,defence and security cooperation and the SADC principles ,guidelines governing democratic elections [2021],” said the Tanzanian President.

Most importantly President Samia Hassan acknowledged that over the past years Namibia has set a peaceful election reputation, upholding democratic values and as always the President of Tanzania hopes they will once again showcase and deliver peaceful elections.

She also highlighted that SADC has deployed its Electoral Observation Mission to the Republic of Namibia to observe the country’s pre-election phase ,polling day and the post-election processes  in line with SADC principles and guidelines governing democratic elections [2021] .
