THE Vice President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Kembo Mohadi, is expected to tour Lotsha FM this Friday .

Speaking to Ziyah News Network the station’s Manager, Progress Moyo said preparations for the high-profile visit are complete.

“We are ready for tomorrow, yes we have had meetings with all stakeholders,” she said.

The tour is aimed at giving the Vice President an opportunity to gain insight into its operations and role in local development.

Lotsha FM (90.1 MHz), is the first community radio station in Beitbridge.

It was officially launched on February 18, 2023, by the Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services.

The station was established to promote local development, arts, culture, and the Tshivenda language.

Also known as “Tshedza tsha lushaka” (Brightness of the Nation), Lotsha FM serves communities within a 60-kilometre radius, including Lutumba and surrounding areas.

As a non-profit, community-owned radio station, it focuses on hyper-local content that reflects the voices and interests of the people it serves.

In reaction to the high-profile visit the Municipality of Beitbridge (MoB) has temporarily closed the Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo Road ( formerly Hagelthorn Road) near the Lotsha FM for the period Mohadi will visit.
In a notice MoB said the measure is meant to facilitate the official visit.

“Notice is hereby given, in terms of the Roads Act (Chapter 13:18) part IV that the Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo (Hagelthorn) Road will be temporarily closed on 27 March 2026 from 0700hrs-1300hrs. This measure is necessary to facilitate an official event at Lotsha FM studio,” said a notice signed by Town Clerk Loud Ramakgapola.

Only authorised vehicles and emergency services will be permitted within the cordoned area during the time, said MoB.
