Zimbabwe’s U20 national team grabbed their first victory at the ongoing COSAFA U20 championships by drubbing a hapless Eswatini by 3-0.
The Young Warriors‘s midfielder Tanaka Cherera open the scoresheet in the 25th minute marking his first goal for the team. A second goal for the young Zimbabweans was to come off the boot Nesbet Muzenda. Highlanders’ young sensation Prince Ndlovu came off the bench to seal the victory and close the match as a contest into stoppage time
The victory takes the Young Warriors to the top their group with 4 points alongside Botswana who beat Mozambique by 2-1 to seat pretty on second position A standings with only goal difference separating the top two.
Zimbabwe will take on Mozambique this afternoon at 3pm in their last game, as both teams fight for maximum points. The former will be playing to seal qualification into the next round atop Group A whilst the latter will be playing for pride as they are all but out of the tournament.
Fans are expecting Coach Simon Marange with the boys to deliver another win for the country in their last encounter.
