THE Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company (ZETDC) has notified residents and businesses in its western region including Beitbridge of a scheduled electricity outage set for Sunday, 8 March 2026.

ZETDC said the scheduled outage is important for the power utility to carry out routine maintenance on its network.

According to the notice, electricity supply will be interrupted from 8:00am to 6:00pm, affecting several residential, commercial and industrial areas across the district.

Areas expected to experience the outage include Beitbridge Town, Dulivhadzimo, Limpopo View, Baobab, Acacia, Impala Drive and Medium Density suburbs, as well as the NRZ Yard, ZNA Army Camp, Hill Close, DA’s Camp, the ZINWA Waterworks and other surrounding areas.

Operations around the busy Beitbridge Border Post are also expected to be affected during the maintenance period.

The planned maintenance will further extend to a number of villages, farms and growth points within the district and nearby communities.

ZETDC said the power interruption is necessary to allow technicians to carry out essential maintenance work aimed at improving electricity supply reliability in the western region, including parts of Gwanda district.

Residents have been advised to treat all electrical circuits as live during the maintenance period as power may be restored earlier than the scheduled time without prior notice
