The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) Central Region Soccer League has postponed the start of its Division One fixtures by two weeks, pushing the scheduled kick-off from March 14 to a later date.
Speaking during the CRSL Annual General Meeting, Central Region Soccer League chairman Patrick Hill ,confirmed the development citing delays in the affiliation and registration process by some clubs participating in the league.
“We have decided to move the start of the Division One matches by two weeks because some clubs are still finalising their affiliation and registration processes,” Hill said.
Hill said the decision was made to allow all teams sufficient time to complete the necessary administrative procedures before the season begins.
He also said the postponement would help ensure that all participating teams meet the league’s requirements , avoid administrative complications once the season gets underway as well as not tolerate unregistered players participating on the league.
Speaking to Ziyah News Network, Vhembe Stars FC Secretary General Foster Abeck said they are ready to participate regardless of the postponement of the match day one games.
“The boys were more than ready to participate in this coming match day one, regardless of the postponements, our team still stands ready to battle against participants that may come our way” Said Abeck
Gwanda Pirates FC,Team manager E Sithole said they are ready for anything that comes their way.
“We are ready to face our participants even if we were to play today ,the boys are prepared to kick things off,” said Sithole
A Dulibadzimu United team manager Polite Bhegede said their 30men squad is ready for action.
“We just finished our 30 men squad. We have retained the bulk 13 players from last year and added 17 including 5 juniors. We are now ready for the new season”
The delay means clubs will have additional time to complete paperwork and preparations ahead of the 2026 Season.
