Zimbabwe ‘U15 girls national team has effortlessly hammered Mozambique 6-1 in the opening match of the CAF African School Championship COSAFA qualifier on Friday, December, 5, 2025 in Stellenbosch , South Africa.
A 6 – 1 victory against Mozambique, saw the Zimbabwean girls moving on top of group A with a superior goal difference before facing the defending champions South Africa and Namibia.
Winnie Dee Mapuwa broke dead lock in the first half and ended up scoring 4 goals against Mozambique, helping Zimbabwe secure an effortless 6-1 thrilling victory.
Zimbabwe Football Association applauded the U15 girls for their effortless start in the CAF African School Championship COSAFA qualifier against Mozambique.
“Zimbabwe U15 Girls get a beautiful start at the African Schools Football Championships” ZIFA said in a statement.
Zimbabwe U15 girls will prepare to face Namibia at 1330 hours on Friday, December 5, 2025 on their second match of the tournament. While the U15 Boys will be battling Namibia at the same time .
In May 2025, Mapuwa, 13, featured in the COSAFA U17 and scored a hatrick in the first half and ended up scoring for 4 goals against Lesotho.
Fast forward to December 2025, she has scored another 4 goals against Mozambique in the CAF African School Championship COSAFA qualifier, showing the future is bright for this young talent.
