Egyptian giants Al Ahly have parted ways with South African star Percy Tau bidding Farewell to the forward who has been with the North African team for four years.
The Bafana Bafana star enjoyed considerable success with the red devils, including winning the 2021 CAF Super Cup, two CAF Champions league titles, 2 Egyptian premier leagues, four Egyptian supers cups and in 2023 he became the first South African to be named the CAF interclub player of the year.
The Egyptian giants took their social media to announce Percy Tau ‘s departure and appreciating his effort during his stint with them.
“Thank you King Percy , you will always be one of our family, thank you for the memories ” Al Ahly FC stated.
Percy Tau is set to make his debut with his new club on Friday, 17 January, Qatar UAE super cup against Christiano Ronaldo ‘s Al Nasir.
Tau made started his professional football career in South Africa for Mamelodi Sundowns, before joining Witbanks Spurs, Brighton & Hove Albion, Union SG, Club Brugge, Anderlecht and finally signing for Al Ahly FC which made Tau the forth highest paid player in African Leagues.
