A 21-year-old man from Mapani, Beitbridge, has been arrested for unlawfully killing four impalas and a kudu within the Bishopstone Estate. He was convicted and brought before the Beitbridge Magistrate Court.

According to the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ), Intelligent Moyo and three accomplices, who are still at large, unlawfully killed the four impalas in the Bishopstone Estate. It is also alleged that they hunted a kudu on September 28.

The accused was identified by game scouts who were on patrol, leading to his arrest the following day. During the arrest, four impala legs were recovered from his residence.

The total value of the wildlife killed is estimated at USD 4,000. Moyo is scheduled to return to court on October 7, 2024, for trial.
