Buhera, Zimbabwe — A village in Buhera has been rocked by bizarre and disturbing revelations after Augustine Marimo, a local man, was brought before a traditional court with a staggering stash of over 30 women’s panties.
The community is now questioning the dark secrets behind these items, which are allegedly linked to unsettling sexual rituals known locally as “mubobobo.”
Sources say Marimo was caught stealing women’s undergarments from washing lines and bathing areas around the Nemhari community, sparking fears of a deeper spiritual or ritualistic connection.
The allegations came to light during a court session presided over by Headman Nemhari, where Marimo, his mother Fridah Chiweshe, and several women affected by his actions were summoned.
One woman, who requested anonymity to shield her dignity, attended the hearing out of curiosity but was left stunned by what she discovered. She revealed she recognized a pair of panties she had inherited from her late sister an item imbued with deep emotional significance. Her shock turned to horror when she learned it was allegedly being used in rituals involving “mubobobo,” a practice shrouded in mystery and fear.
According to her account, Marimo did not deny the accusations. Instead, he detailed a chilling routine: he would place the stolen panties on his bed, masturbate on them, and envision himself in intimate encounters with the women they belonged to—without their knowledge or consent.
The revelation has left the community in shock, raising questions about the boundary between spirituality, superstition, and outright abuse.
Adding a disturbing spiritual dimension, the woman claimed Marimo confessed that a “voice” instructs him to steal the underwear and carry out these acts. He insisted he was under some unseen influence, driven by a spiritual force he refused to identify, warning him to remain silent or face dire consequences.
The impact of these revelations is profound. The woman shared that her marriage has been suffering ever since the underwear disappeared nearly two years ago.
Her husband, initially concerned, gradually withdrew, and their relationship grew cold—a change she attributes to the emotional trauma caused by the theft and ritualistic acts.
As community members grapple with these unsettling revelations, questions abound about the nature of the spiritual voice and the true motives behind the thefts. Authorities and elders are now calling for further investigation, wary of the cultural and spiritual implications woven into this mysterious case.
