A 42 year old man, Gary Bell has been brought to court for unlawful dealing in dangerous drugs after being found in possession of cocaine and ecstasy.
He was arraigned by Bulawayo Regional Court.The matter was remanded to March 20, 2025, for a bail ruling.
The arrest was made during a police operation at Smoke House Bar in Burnside.
The National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe ( NPAZ)states that detectives from the CID Drugs and Narcotics unit in Bulawayo conducted a surveillance operation at the bar, leading to Bell’s arrest.
Upon searching his vehicle, a silver Toyota double cab, police found six sachets of cocaine worth approximately USD $480, five ecstasy tablets valued at USD $60, digital weighing scales, and razor blades with cocaine residue.
A further search of Bell’s residence uncovered additional cocaine hidden in a jewelry box.
He was subsequently charged under Section 156(1)(a)(c) of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act [Chapter 9:23].
