Beitbridge-The rape accused Zimbabwe Republic Police trio of Courage Majoni, Jabulani Museba and Enock Nyamupandu all stationed at Chitulipasi Police Post have been granted bail by Beitbridge Regional Magistrate Innocent Bepura.
Prosecutor Tsitsi Mutukwa acceded to bail in concurrence with lawyer Muchihwande Forbes Sithole of Chauke and Associates. The policemen were thrown back into the cells yesterday after their bail order was delayed. Their lawyer had applied for one to the Provincial Prosecutor who would in turn forward it to the head office in Harare.
The three who are being charged with rape as defined in section 65 of the Criminal Law Codification and Reform Act Chapter 9:23 were given US$ 100.00 bail each and asked not to interfere with witnesses in the case. They will be back in court after two weeks for their routine remand.
They are accused of raping the complainant using the same modus operandi of threatening to kill the victim.
