Popular Zimbabwean singer Trevor Dongo is a man in pain following a devastating fire that destroyed his home over the weekend.
Reports suggest that the blaze may have been ignited by a jealous ex-partner who allegedly found Dongo with another woman.
In a now-deleted post, Dongo dismissed circulating rumors about the incident.
“The level of toxicity that drives some bloggers and journalists these days is insane. Fabricated stories are circulating… for the sake of getting likes and tarnishing my image. Those with accurate information are the closest to me; the rest is just deception for social media monetization,” he stated.
The singer revealed that he suffered serious burns while attempting to salvage his belongings upon his return, which included furniture, clothing, studio equipment, and important documents.
“I lost things that took me years to build, and I am in serious pain… My life is ruined,” he stated, expressing gratitude to friends and family who have offered support.
In a troubling update, Dongo hinted at suicidal thoughts, suggesting that he wanted to leave behind his unreleased music.
“I’ve been losing hope, and I don’t think there is still a reason for me to live. All the new music that we’ve recorded should be released so that you have something to remember me by,” he said.
His emotional message has raised alarms among fans and followers, as many rally to support him in this challenging time.
A Fellow musician Mudiwa Hood has pledged a fully furnished 1 bedroom apartment for him to stay as he come to terms with the unfortunate and heartbreaking incident.
