A 31-year-old Harare man is fighting for his life in the hospital after stabbing himself in the neck in a suspected suicide attempt. This incident occurred after he allegedly murdered his wife in a gruesome manner. The man is said to have been enraged after allegedly finding his wife in bed with another man in their matrimonial bedroom.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirmed the incident, stating: “The ZRP confirms the arrest of Mindson Jairos (31) in connection with a murder case that occurred at a house in Joshua Nkomo Housing Cooperative, Harare, resulting in the death of his wife, Loveness Gurure (40). The suspect stabbed the victim with a knife in the neck, abdomen, and chest before stabbing himself in the neck. He had allegedly found the victim with a boyfriend in their matrimonial bedroom.”
“The victim’s body was taken to Sally Mugabe Hospital mortuary for a post-mortem examination, while the suspect was admitted to Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals under police guard.”
