Harare– Popular Zimbabwean gospel songstress, Dorcas Moyo is on cloud nine after she scooped the coveted Africa Best Female Gospel Artiste of the Year award at the CLIMA Africa Awards 2024 ceremony held in Abuja, Nigeria this past Saturday.

Pitted against the who is who in the African Gospel Music Industry, Moyo competed against  the continent’s heavy weights in gospel music , including Nigeria’s Yadah and Mercy Chinwo, Deborah Lukalu from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Janet Otieno from Kenya, and South Africa’s Winnie Mashaba.

In an interview with Ziyah News Network, Moyo expressed her gratitude thanking her multitudes of fans across the country and continent who spur her on.

“I`m feeling happy about this award because, for me it’s truly a testimony. I’d like to thank Zimbabwe and all my fans across the country for their unwavering support. I’m looking forward to celebrating this achievement with everyone around the world.” said Mama Moyo as Dorcas prefers to be called.

Moyo’s rise on the gospel on the gospel music scene has been astronomical, dominating the charts with hit after hit. Some of her hits include Haakotsire Mwari and Munoramba muri Mwari.

CLIMA is the Apex Gospel Awards in Africa and they celebrate God’s kingdom & Unity of Christ in Africa.
