DULIBADZIMU United are preparing to host ZRP Gwanda on Matchday 33 of the 2026 Central Region Soccer League this Sunday at Dulivhadzimu Stadium.
Speaking ahead of this encounter Team Manager Ferdinand Matete said his team is looking to finish in a better position .
“Its been a massive year and we want to finish our home run in a respectable way .We just urge our whole Beitbridge community to come out and shout for the boys from the beginning to the end ,”Matete said.
Coach Rutherford Matondo and his charges will be looking for redemption in this fixture.
Dulibadzimu suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of the policemen in the first half of the season at Phelandaba Stadium, making the return leg a crucial fixture for the Beitbridge side.
Compared to last season, Dulibadzimu also suffered a 2-0 away defeat before securing a 1-1 draw at Dulivhadzimu Stadium.
The Beitbridge side will be eager to break this pattern of losing away from home and settling for a point on their own backyard.
Dulibadzimu United currently sit in ninth position with 38 points, while ZRP Gwanda occupy 13th position with 32 points.
A comparison with the 2025 season at this stage reveals a decline in Dulibadzimu United’s performance.
Last season, the team had recorded 41 points from 26 games and occupied fourth position.
In 2026, they have reached Matchday 33 with 38 points, sitting in ninth position, three points fewer than they had at the same stage last season.
For ZRP Gwanda, the story is not also different .
They head into Matchday 33 of the 2026 season with 32 points, compared to the 34 points they had secured from 26 games in 2025, when they occupied ninth position.
This reflects a slight drop in their overall performance.
Elsewhere, Dulibadzimu United’s Louis Mathambo and ZRP Gwanda’s Gama Trust will miss this crucial encounter.
Both players picked up yellow cards in their previous fixtures and will serve their respective suspensions.
Neither team is currently fighting relegation, as both find themselves in the middle of the table.
With their positions relatively secure, rebuilding their squads ahead of next season could be one of their main priorities.
