Beitbridge-Dulibadzimu mini winless streak continued in the Ruvimbo Funeral Central Division one soccer league as they drew 0-0 with visiting ZRP Gwanda, marking their third game without a win. The Beitbridge outfit has been plagued by the absence of key players who have been crucial to their purple patch witnessed in the first half of the season, including Tinotenda Matsika, Munashe Bamara, Kelvin Damalankunda, Munyaradzi Roki  and defender Spencer Mussa due to various reasons including injuries and seeking greener pastures.

Despite the challenges, new signing Tanaka Nezungai showed promising signs, exciting coach Never Malunga with his impressive performance. The draw leaves Dulibadzimu in 5th position, tied on 28 points with Construction Boys, who lost to Blanket Mine.

Elsewhere, log leaders Tongogara maintained their top spot with a 1-0 win over Beitbridge FC, while Chapungu FC climbed into third place with a 2-0 victory over Wangu Mazodze City. Kwekwe United solidified their hold on second place with a 1-0 win over FC Platinum.

Meanwhile the ZIFA Central region has announced the league will be taking its official mid-season break after the past weekend’s matches.

“The Association hereby advise your esteemed office and person that the first half of the 2024 soccer season ended on the 21st of July 2024. We kindly request all clubs with outstanding fines, gate levies and affiliation fees to clear their debts on or before 30 July 2024 in order to remain in good standing with the Association. Please be advised that all league games are resuming on Saturday 3 of August 2024,” read a statement
