A 51 year old Early Childhood Development (ECD) teacher in Bikita faces serious charges related to blood sucking on two young ECD pupils. She was arraigned before the Masvingo Regional Court facing two counts of assault.
The accused person has been remanded in custody to the 30th of June 2025, pending finalisation of investigations.
Allegations are that between the 20th of May, 2025 and the 5th of June 2025, at a primary school in Chief Budzi area of Bikita, the accused person sucked blood from two young ECD pupils.
This shocking act was allegedly carried out without the knowledge of the children’s parents or school authorities.
The matter came to light when one of the children’s parents was bathing their child and noticed some wounds on the fingers.
The child narrated the ordeal, leading the parent to approach the school for an explanation and similar reports were received. The purpose behind taking the blood remains unknown.
