Detectives from the CID Drugs and Narcotics Unit have arrested four individuals for unlawful possession of large quantities of cough syrup at Beitbridge Border Post.
Wellington Chin’ono, Simbai Lavu, Motion Nyakudya, and Prosper Zunzanyika were apprehended on May 24, 2025, with 720 bottles of Benylin and Broncleer cough syrup.
In a related incident,detectives from CID Drugs and Narcotics intercepted a Toyota Hiace kombi and arrested a passenger.
The ZRP states that Mkandla was arrested the 40 kilometre peg along Beitbridge-Gwanda Road for unlawful possession of 144 X 100 ml bottles of Benlyin Cough Syrup.
