Zimbabwean renowned veteran of the Country’s citizens struggle Idan Hanyani affectionately known as Gogo Chihera has passed away at 94.
Gogo Chihera grabbed the headlines in via a viral video where she was heard publicly affirming her vote for Nelson Chamisa in the Presidential election.
The public show of support by gogo Chihera led to Nelson Chamisa visiting her homestead.
Opposition leader Advocate Nelson Chamisa has expressed deep sorrow following the death of Gogo Chihera, he described her as a citizen heroine who admired by many Zimbabweans.
“A SAD LOSS… Just received the tragic news of the passing of a Citizen heroine, the golden girl, Idah Hanyani AKA GOGO CHIHERA – admired by many for her courage, determination and sacrifice fueled by her unbridled passion for change in Zimbabwe Rest In Power Gogo!”
Chamisa also said the passing on of Gogo Chihera is a great loss to the opposition movement, but her legacy will continue to inspire the fight for a free and fair nation.
