Harare– President Emmerson Mnangagwa has hailed the infrastructure developments being undertaken in the country courtesy of the Government and private sector as what exactly the doctor ordered to improve the country as a brand.
His Excellency was speaking the ground breaking ceremony of The Hills Luxury Golf Estate being championed by West Properties, a key property developer in the country which has continued to invest in the sector.
“The aesthetic value and ambience of the physical landscape within this environment will improve our national brand and image as a country. To this end, the project, whose ground-breaking we have witnessed today, stands as a signature feature in our ongoing destination marketing efforts, said the President as he showered praise on West Properties contributing to the country’s Vision of a New Urban Agenda and showing confidence in the Second Republics economic policies.
“The project is one of the building blocks for the company to realise a ‘billion bricks’ into the ground and will go a long way towards the realisation of our national Vision and aspects of the New Urban Agenda as well as Sustainable Development Goal Number 11 on sustainable cities and communities.”
Set in the Suburb of Marlbereign, the modern Luxury Golf Estate will constitute of 862 residential units and will accommodate about 4,310 people. It will also boast of malls, a Professional Golf Association approved golf course to the tune of US$280 million. In line with modern trends, the Estate is going to be built making use of green technologies.
It is my expectation that such partnerships between agencies of Government and the private sector will propel housing development and the overall delivery of quality services to our residents across cities, towns and growth points. This is one of the cornerstones of the Second Republic’s development thrust of leaving no one and no place behind
The President also assured investors, property developers and other stakeholders of the Government’s support to private sector-led initiatives in the successful and rapid implementation of projects and programmes for the modernisation and industrialisation of Zimbabwe.
The multi-million dollar project is a a culmination of a partnership between Harare City Council and West Properties and upon completion will no doubt change the face of the city forever.
